Tampa Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

Winter has finally graced Tampa Bay with its cold presence. As a result of the cold weather, the water temperature has dropped causing a decrease in fish activity. For awhile, I thought we weren't going to have a real cold winter. We are definitely having a cold winter, it was just late. I have had to start fishing with shrimp, lures, and jigs due to the cold water temperatures. MirrOlures are great this time of year. I've had great success with them.

It does warm up a bit in the afternoons, but it has been pretty darn windy. I hope that Punxsutawney Phil's prediction is right, and that we have an early spring.
