Ten Thousand Islands - Saltwater Fishing Report

Well its finally that time of year where it seems everything is migrating south. Hordes of bait are in full effect in every shape and size.

We just had our first mild cold front causing the wind to howl out of the North and the water temp is on the fall. Mullet has balled up in the passes and started to move down the coast. At the passes, and appears on every point these mullet have to swim around, has Tarpon smashing them. Big fish fattening up for the upcoming winter. Its an unbelievable sight to see, all you need to do is be here.

Outside along the beaches schools of mackeral and false albacore eating tiny baits balled up in 15 feet of water.Spin or fly will catch these fish on any cast. These fish have the water frothing, boiling with action.

Snook and red fish are here as well, taking advantage of the steady food supply. Snook under the lights have been fantastic for the fly guy, as well as along the beach when the water is clean.Reds appear to be schooling in certain areas in the 10K Islands with some fish in the 30+ inch range, but a lot of small rats as well.

The weather is delightful, very comfortable to fish all day. The waters are still fairly empty as far as boaters go. I do have some openings in November so if you care to sample some of the action call and book a day on the water.

Ten Thousand Islands Fishing Forecast:

All of this shall last until we start getting hit with consistent cold fronts. Book a trip in Nov-Dec before the cold stops this incredible fishery. After this it will be time to start hiding from the elements deep in the back country of the Everglades.

Target Species:

Anything that eats a fly!

More Fishing Reports:

Come fish the 10,000 Islands and the Everglades National Park for tarpon, snook, red fish and more with either flyrods or light tackle. All artificial no live bait, geared for two anglers. Fly through the shallows in a Hellsbay Whipray. Fishing with the finest equiptment like Sage fly rods and Bauer reels or St. Croix spin rods and Quantum reels. Sight fishing is my passion! Target the toughest saltwater species in mere inches of water and fool them into eating year round.
