Finally, typical Fl. weather

Ten Thousand Islands - Saltwater Fishing Report

April has finally arrived, and the winter clothes are stashed away until next year.
Calmer days, clean water, and hungry fish.
Tarpon is the name of the game this time of year! This year has had some great days already with lots of happy fish.
It appears that every nice day the fish cooperate as if they appreciate as much as I.
I guided my largest tarpon on fly of my career 3 weeks ago with angler Dave Teper of Naples Fl. 87" long and 43" around, came out to roughly 189 lbs. Fish was so strong he was pulling my Whipray around like a bobber! So I staked the boat out to apply more pressure to fish, only he didn't quit and ended up snapping my pushpole pulling so hard......
Damn, big fish!
Anyway, great story, not so good pictures, but an absolute dinosaur.
Snook and redfish are on fire as well! Sightfishing these agggressive fish in less than a foot of water can be as much of a challenge as the silver king himself.
The snook population is looking good, with lots of visual fish to actually have a a good guess. Also been catching lots of fingerling snook, like 3" long eating flies. I see it as mother nature kicking the snook in High gear to repopulate after the horrible freeze.

I still have days open in May and June, call and reserve a day on the water flyfishing for the greatest shallow water gamefish in the saltwater world.

More Fishing Reports:

Come fish the 10,000 Islands and the Everglades National Park for tarpon, snook, red fish and more with either flyrods or light tackle. All artificial no live bait, geared for two anglers. Fly through the shallows in a Hellsbay Whipray. Fishing with the finest equiptment like Sage fly rods and Bauer reels or St. Croix spin rods and Quantum reels. Sight fishing is my passion! Target the toughest saltwater species in mere inches of water and fool them into eating year round.
