Tarpon Jumping but not Feeding

Capt. Jeff Buckley
May 10, 2008
Ten Thousand Islands - Saltwater Fishing Report

On May 6 I took James out from Naples. We were looking for tarpon and saw four jumping offshore, but could not get them to feed.

The only thing hitting were sharks and more sharks. We caught four 3 foot bonnets and four 3 foot lemon sharks. We also caught two 6 foot bull sharks which took about an hour and a half each to get in. One bull was caught in the backwater and one was offshore.

The water temp was 79 degrees and the winds were calm.

I am a USCG License / Insured Charter Captain and was associated with Fishing Charter Services as a Captain since the 90's. Marco Island and south into the Everglades offers some of the best fishing in the world with all it's islands, shores and rivers. With a specialty designed Flats Boat we will navigate these shallow waters including remote areas in the Back Country.
