Titusville - Saltwater Fishing Report

This week's report on the upper Indian River and Mosquito Lagoon
from Spotted Tail, updated 2/3
Now booking TARPON trips for May and June for the SW Florida coast!
Spotted Tail had yet another tough week but at least we got a few fish this week. Monday I was on the Indian River with Steve Baker and Rick Hildebrandt, from Pinehurst, NC. They hooked two redfish out of a moderately sized school. The fish we put in the boat pegged out my 30 pound BogaGrip. I think he was close to 40 pounds, I had a heck of a time pulling him out of the water.
Tuesday we tried the Banana River. Bad guess. We got one dink red all day. In my defense the weather was pretty bad- overcast and windy. Our fish don't really like that combination, especially during the winter.
Friday morning I went scouting the Mosquito Lagoon. What a crappy day- overcast, windy, cold, and drizzly. I found a few trout and one school of redfish.
Today I fished Chris Preston of Albuqurque, NM. The day was just like yesterday, weather-wise. I was surprised that we found quite a few fish but we had only three strikes all day, all from trout. The biggest was maybe four pounds.
I am definitely sick of this weather and am really looking forward to warm and sunny. This IS Florida, after all!
Fishing is great and I love my work!
