Titusville - Saltwater Fishing Report

This week’s fishing report from Spotted Tail, updated 6/5/05
The report is short this week. I needed some recovery time after being gone for two weeks, and the weather, well, I haven't seen the sun for almost a week now, very weird.
Wednesday Maxx, Alex, and I drove back to Pineland Marina in pouring rain. Upon arrival we waited over an hour for the rain and lightning to stop, which it finally did. We went fishing, first to Captiva Pass. An outgoing tide was washing crabs out. We caught a few but didn't see any tarpon. We went looking along the beach but only saw a few in several hours of searching. We finally decided to toss chug bugs for trout. I hooked up fairly quickly and a large shark ate the trout and took the chug bug. We bagged it shortly after, since it was now pushing 7 pm.
Thursday morning it was pouring rain again. We waited for it to slow down and went looking for tarpon. We found a few rolling along the beach, but the sky was gray, the water was dirty, the fish were up and down, and we couldn't get any shots until late in the afternoon. We finally had a few shots at chaining fish, but we couldn't really see what was going on and couldn't get a bite. We gave up at about 6 pm.
Friday it was pouring rain again. We picked up the boat and drove home, a nasty drive in terrible weather. Not the greatest week fishing, but it was great fun spending some quality time with my sons.
Remember- life is short. GO FISHING!
Life is also great and I love my work!!
