Kingfish and Grouper are hitting

Capt. Dave Pinkham
November 18, 2009
Venice - Saltwater Fishing Report

The past couple of days the fish have been really hitting. The reason for this is most likely they are feeding hard ahead of the weak front that will pass though today.

Yesterday the bottom action was great with a limit of both reds and gags. Cut sardines have been producing plenty of hits from the grouper as well and lots of mangrove snapper.

The toughest part of the day is getting the bait down to the bottom before a kingfish hits it. Some of the kings have been in the 20-pound range.
