The Current Lake Level is remaining steady at 326.71 (3.3 ft) below full pool and surface temperatures on the south end of the lake are around 56 deg in AM and falling. This week began with a warming trend that got the fish moving and feeding well. We caught fish using multiple techniques and at several depths. The down rod bite continued to be a great producer from as deep as 50 ft to as shallow as 22ft. We also had pretty good excitement while presenting herring on flatlines, freelines and pulling planner boards and corks. With a few cold nights in the forecast, I anticipate the fish to pull back a little deeper and hug the bottom in the morning and slowly move up as the baitfish go shallower throughout the day. The fish are scattered from one end of the lake to the other, so any launch location should be good for the next few weeks.

The Crappie have been difficult to catch over the past week. They we all dressed up for the spawning party and then the cold temperatures sent them to deeper water. They have been suspended around channel drops with trees in 40 ft of water. The next significant warming trend should send them back to the creek ledges, then to the bank. Where they will be easy pickings for those wanting slabs for the freezer.
