Lake Allatoona - Freshwater Fishing Report

This Lake Allatoona fishing guides report has been brought to you exclusively by Robert Eidson of First Bite Guide Service, 770 827-6282. www.firstbiteguideservice.com Lake Allatoona, Georgia email: [email protected].

Fair is the best word to describe line-side fishing on Lake Allatoona right now. Last week the bite was so awful I moved most of my trips to Lanier. But this week Allatoona seems to be fishing better then Lanier. The top - Water bite this week has been very stable. The fish are coming up at sun up and then again at dust. They will hit almost anything when they are on top. I still think a popping cork is the best over all bite for these schooling fish. The live bait bite has gotten a little better this week. The key is to find big schools of bait on your fish finder and try to fish the edges of these bait clouds... Shiners seem to be working best but they will eat fresh Thread Fins as well. Mid-lake is holding tons of Hybrids, but if your looking for a big Ole striper then you need to be fishing around Iron Hill. I have had a couple of buddies catch some nice fish there this week. Remember the full moon is this weekend plus it is Labor day weekend. Chances on boating numbers are going to be very slim. The fishing should pick up by the end of next week. I am glad summer comes to and end on Monday on most lakes..... I still have a few days open next week. Give me a call at 770 827-6282 and lets go fishing....
