Lake Hartwell Fishing Forecast for April

Capt. Preston Harden
March 27, 2018
Lake Hartwell - Freshwater Fishing Report

Water temperature 60 degrees and water level is full pool.

April means shallow fishing. Most game fish are thinking about Spawning. My customers will be throwing flukes on jig heads and we will pull free lined Herring. Hopefully, we will be catching largemouth bass, spotted bass, hybrids and stripers. The crappie will also move shallow, especially early and late afternoon. A small crappie jig under a small float fished slowly around cover should get bit. March fishing has been very good when the weather cooperates. April weather should settle down and the fishing should be awesome.
