Great Fishing on Lanier

Capt. Scott Collins
June 14, 2009
Lake Lanier - Freshwater Fishing Report

With the water temp rising the Stripers have finally moved a little deeper making them easier to catch. Mid-Lake and North seems to be the best bite, although there probably a few fish down south as well. There is still a chance to get one on top water early but the chances of that happening are getting smaller every day with the water temp warming up. Fish live herring off humps and points. The Stripers are starting to respond better to down lines than weeks past. Its always a good idea to keep at least one flat-line out the back. There is a decent trolling bite that will improve with the coming weeks.

Spotted Bass are nailing shad over top brush piles all over the lake. Look for bait skipping across the surface and bass right underneath. Spots have been hitting swim baits, jerkbaits, and spooks this week. Bass action continues to be great. See you on the water 678-634-3408.
