Lake Lanier - Freshwater Fishing Report

Shane Watson Guide Service Report 2-9-11. Your best bet is to fish free lined and planer board bluebacks, trout, and gizzard shad in the backs to the middle of creeks. Cast a white ½ oz. buck tail or a Spro Mc Stick to the banks while you are free lining. Look for single stripers boiling on top. We are seeing a decent shad kill and the seagulls are a little of a distraction right now as they are diving randomly and picking up dieing bait. If they are tightly bunched up, hovering, and diving in one place, then that's what you are looking for. If they pick up one piece and then fly on, that's shad kill. Capt. Mack's 4 arm u-rigs pulled over humps are catching a few as well. Sorry for not having any pictures, one of my customers accidently picked up my camera when getting off the boat and are shipping it back to me. This report is brought to you by Shane Watson Guide Service, Hammond's Fishing Center, & Carolina Skiff Boats. Good Fishing.
