Good Day, Lanier

Capt. Scott Collins
October 8, 2008
Lake Lanier - Freshwater Fishing Report

Today was an interesting day due to the weather, it was a wet and rainy morning. The bite slowed slightly this morning, I believe it was weather induced. However, we still pulled in quality numbers. The fish were slightly smaller on average, but we still boated one today that exceeded 12 pounds. As this front pushes through fishing should pick up again. The fish were siting tight into the trees today, and were biting 30-50 feet below the boat. Don't be afraid to look outside the creek and river channels, we caught a few stripers today in 50 feet of water. The bite is still good Mid Lake. The down line remains the key beneficiary. Always keep a top water handy, and be on the lookout for breaking fish. I still have open dates in October. See you on the water.
