Memorial Weekend Lanier Striper Fishing

Capt. Scott Collins
June 2, 2010
Lake Lanier - Freshwater Fishing Report

We were lucky enough to be on Lanier everyday this weekend. The Striper bite was great with low pressure hovering over the lake. Down lines are putting fish in the boat every morning. Fished tightly around brush for success, in the Mid-Lake area. We are catching many smaller Stripers, but still seeing a couple 10 + pound fish every trip. Trolling umbrella rigs is also working well for us. As the temp. and weather stabilizes look for the fish to drop down deeper this week. Good Striper fishings is finally here. It's a great time of year to introduce kids to fishing. Anyone can enjoy this down line bite. To see some pictures from this week swing by www.gettinluckyfishing.com and click on the reports tab. See you on the water.
