Lake Oconee - Freshwater Fishing Report

March is the Season of the Broke-necks. I'm talking about crappie so HUGE that when you grab them by the lip, and hold them up for pictures, it appears their necks come out of joint, due to their freakishly monster size. We have been catching lot of fish lately, but it is in March that our averages for two plus pound fish goes through the roof! I love this time of year because there isn't a trip that passes when I don't hear, "thats the biggest crappie I have ever seen in my life!"
This is our spider rig bite, where we are pushing 12 or more rods from the front of the boat, and its not for the faint of heart. I still have several dates available and would love to put you on them. The pictures below have been taken in just the past week, so it has started.
On another note, our BigFishHeads Charity Tournament is only a month away now on Saturday, April 2nd. There will be tons of prizes, trophies, and it is all for a great cause. Just like last year we will have a division for crappie, stripers, or largemouth. We are sponsoring 4Sarah, an organization that fights sex trafficking in Atlanta GA, that rescues young girls from that industry. If you want to read more about, go to www.4sarah.net. or you can click on the 4Sarah banner on my website at www.bigfishheads.com. All the info regarding the tournament, and schedule for that day can be found there. There is also a link there where you can click to donate to this worthy cause.
If you would like to book a trip with me, just reply to this email, or give me a call or text. After this month the big ones will go into hiding again. Come see the broke-necks for yourself!
