Lake Oconee - Freshwater Fishing Report
Our Big Fish/Big Numbers Season is underway! This cold weather has really been good to us, as it has bunched up the bait and fish into their normal locations. Its cold today, but it will moderate and this month is going to provide some dynamic fishing on Oconee. We are dropping live bait and casting artificial lures into the stacks of bait and fish. It is so much fun and this is really "the most wonderful time of the year" :)
I have also dusted off the long poles for crappie fishing and we are beginning to see the "big mommas" show up. I have the feeling this may be one of the best crappie seasons we have had in a long time. The full moon is going to be early in March this year and as you probably already know, that couldn't be more perfect!
2017 was a great year for our business and we fished more trips than ever before. As the calls and emails come in, I know we are going to be wide open in just a few weeks, so…..Pick your date, give me a call, or text or email, and Ill get you on the calendar.
Happy New Year
Capt Doug
