Hooray, It is striper season again!

Lake Oconee - Freshwater Fishing Report

Water is clear

My last fishing report stated that the water temp on Lake Oconee was 94 degrees. 94 freaking degrees!!!!! I am happy today to report today that it is finally down into the mid 70's, and you know what that means. It has began!

The crappie are typcially the first to show up. A few weeks ago my son and I caught over 80 on a night trip, just out having fun. They were small fish, but much fun nevertheless. The stripers have began to show up in the River Bend area, which is where they normally start.

There is also more bait on the lake than I have seen in years. I threw the cast net in Sugar Creek and could not get it in the boat by myself. This promises to be a great season and if you are ready to go, just give me a call and lets get busy!

Tight Lines

Doug
