Load the boat in May!

Lake Oconee - Freshwater Fishing Report

It is that time of year when the big numbers bite for stripers and crappie begins and it has started off with a bang. Just over the past 2 guided trips we have boated over 180 stripers/hybrids/white bass. I know that sounds like a fish story, but with my hand raised as a gentleman and fishing guide, its all true. The screen shot on my Lowrance really tell the story of how many fish we have been sitting on. Whats great is the fish are not just passing through, they are feeding and we are staying on top of them. The shad spawn is in full swing on the lake and I think after the stripers get done on their daylight feed, they just continue eating so the bite has been great all day. The crappie are starting to move into the trees and when that happens we get huge numbers of nice fish. We find a tree that is loaded up with them, and try to pick every fish out of it. It really is lots of fun.

I have some available dates for this great late spring action. You can set up your trip by calling me or just respond to this email. May is going to be a great month for big numbers and if you are interested, give me a call…we'll get you on them.
