Lake Oconee - Freshwater Fishing Report

Hey Guys,
The o2 sat rates on lake oconee near Wallace dam is .1 - .2, which means fishing is just not that great right now. It always is kinda sad this year. The guys on Lake Lanier are just having Mardi Gras, and us Oconee guides feel like we have just left the funeral of a dear uncle. But alas, this will change very soon. All it will take is a few days of cooler weather, shorter days, and the fish will get hungry again. Go ahead and make your plans for this fall because the fishing we had in late spring and early summer tells me it is going to be awesome!

Doug is a licensed USCG Captain and has been guiding over 14 years. His specialty is trophy Striped Bass, and huge Crappie during certain months. His boat is a Ranger 2300 Bay Series powered by a 225 Yamaha 4-stroke motor. It is spacious and can fish up to 6 people! During the hot summer months he heads to the Chattahoochee River to pursue monster Striped bass. He fishes from a custom jet boat, built exclusively for fishing the river. BigFishHeads Guide service operates year round.
