Inshore St Simons Island

St. Simons Island - Saltwater Fishing Report

We had another great day on the water the bite was a little slower today but my group form Valdosta Georgia hung in there and managed to pull some nice fish. We fished the last of the outgoing tide behind St. Simons Island hitting a couple of deep drops looking for trout but there was not much current so trout were not to active. We then decided to move into some shallow water along the oyster beds there we picked up a couple of trout and redfish we ended up moving around for an hour picking up a couple fish at each spot until the tide was all the way out. Once the tide stopped we ran about 15 miles south of St. Simons and right off the bat caught some nice keeper trout. As the tide came in we picked through smaller trout and some really big bonnet head trout luckily I had some good anglers who handled them perfect. All in all it was a good day I had a great group of people on the boat weather and water looked great and we caught some quality fish.
