St Simons Fishing-Capt.Richard Latham

Capt. Richard Latham
December 14, 2008
St. Simons Island - Saltwater Fishing Report

November was a super month for Trout/Reds.Water temperatures in the 60's proved to be a real turn on for the fish. But,December is starting off even better.Limits of Trout are being taken routinely.Without a doubt, the artificials are working better than the Live baits.Four inch Saltwater Assassins rigged with a 1/4oz lead head are deadly.Simply cast and retrieve slowly. The fish are biting a variety of color patterns, including the Woodpecker/New Penny/Pinfish/and Silver Mullet. If you have'nt tried soft plastics, you should. Most of the fish are being taken in 3-7ft of water.
Happy Holidays
