Trout Feeding Frenzy

Capt. Jeff Stokes
June 3, 2014
St. Simons Island - Saltwater Fishing Report

Another great day of fishing in St Simons Island GA. Today I had Sam, Josh and Phillip on the boat we had a great time and they were a lot of fun to fish with. We started out on the back side of Jekyll Island fishing the incoming tide. Our first few spots we stopped we caught trout almost every cast most of them were 12 inch trout but did manage to find a few keeper trout also. Most of the trout were in 4-6ft of water and would literally hit any bait you put in front of them live or artificial. After fishing there for a while we ended up in the St. Simons sound we fished around there for an hour catching a trout here and there but nothing like we had earlier that morning water looked great everywhere we went. By the end of the trip we had thrown back well over 30 undersize trout let a 22 inch trout go back in the water and kept 5 for eating.
