Jason 'BURN HACK' Koenig and his father in law Barry Hofmeester joined me today. Departed from the Reel Inn Fishing Lodge early with the bright moon to guide us down the bayou!! Made a stop at a reef Ive been wanting to check, but no takers. Our second stop found shrimp jumping out the water with hungry trout chasing them. Our first couple cast put a couple trout in the box with a couple 'BURN HACKS' yelled out!!! The action died quickly as the trout miraculously disappeared. Third stop found only more pecker trout over another reef. Fourth stop found more shrimp and trout jumping out the water plenty BURN HACKS with lots of hook ups but all pecker trout. Lots of moving around with not much to show for our efforts. As the wind picked up and the lake and reefs dirtied up the trout bite was non existent. Plan B immediately went into effect and we took off to where we have been tearing up the reds. Drifted the bank we have been averaging 25-30 reds each trip and only caught 2. Made a few more moves checking some other ponds catching only 3 more reds. With the wind blowing 20mph we threw in the towel and headed in. Tough day as the full moon and wind shut down our bite. Once the wind lays back down and the big light in the sky turns off the bite should bust loose!!!! Thanks guys for stickin it out, I look forward to our next trip this summer. BURN HACK!!

Give me a call, as we are getting close to our busiest season. 8 boats available, Big groups welcome, first class lodging at The Reel Inn Fishing Lodge.
