It was great having David Fishburn back on board the big BlueWave today. After crushing the trout with me July 8th with only two of his sons, he was ready to come back. This time with all three sons, Sam, William, and Joseph. We were greeted with a nice calm, clean Gulf this morning. Our first stop found shrimp jumping out the water with the trout in hot pursuit. Trout were hitting the deck one after another, but mostly small fish. With 15 iced down we were on the move. Several more stops produced fish at each location. After dodging a rain storm we found the mother load of birds feeding on shrimp. Power pole down and Fish On.....every one in the boat with bent rods. It was non stop every cast action as the Yeti filled up quickly. We still weeded through some small fish but managed a solid box of right at 80 fish, before being run off by a bad storm. One bull red and one lost black drum also found its way on the end of David's line. Highlight of the day was David hooking two seagulls in one cast and hooking three trout with only having two hooks (never seen that happen before). LOL. Good times for sure as we had over 300 fish hit the deck today. Every fish today was caught on the Avocado Matrix Shad double rigged. No live bait needed!!! For some reason the fish would not hit the baits with a chartreuse tail today, it had to be solid Avocado. It was strange to only see one other boat all day for a Saturday, but sure was nice!!! Thanks again David for another exceptional trip.
