Found the trout stacked and hungry 'Down In Dularge' this morning. Had a ten man crew this morning, Larry Avery, Derrick Nagel, Lucky Hicks, Tommy Smith, and Kevin porter fished with me and the other half the crew fished with Capt. Rob Dupont. These guys were in town from Missouri, Houston, Dallas, and Lake Charles for business. We fed the hungry fish tantem rigged chubs and sparkle beetles all morning and they ate them up!!! NO LIVE BAIT NEEDED!!! At 8:30 with the box full the guys said 'they had enough, take it to the dock Capt'. Had the boat back on trailer at 9:30....Great day. Big thanks to Larry and James with Gulf Island Shrimp and to the whole crew for making the day so fun. Thanks also to Capt. Rob Dupont for running the second boat.

Thanks to Capt. Joel Wakeland for running the trip yesterday with Brandon and Wayne Mires from Mississippi. The guys are experienced avid fisherman and had a great time. They told me they had never caught such big fish anywhere else they have fished. I look forward to fishing with them in the next couple weeks.

Brandon Pippen and his girlfriend Elizabeth Mitchell joined me Sunday for a HOT day on the du. We started out red-fishing waiting for the tide to switch and water to clean up. Ended up catching 3 reds and 3 big Blue water cats! Elizabeth took big fish honors reeling in a ten pound Blue Cat. Hit some ponds and found the reds were real finicky. They would follow the bait to the boat but not take the hook. We headed out to trout fish, finding stained water and NO trout. Fished long and hard only picking up a few fish here and there and missing a bunch of others. Spoke to some good friends of mine that had been wade fishing and doing good. It was so HOT we decided to join them in the water wade fishing. We ended up catching a few fish and cooling off, but not getting on the bite we were looking for. Made a couple more stops before calling it quits. Had great time with Brandon again and look forward to his return. Thanks!
