Bad Luck Friday the 13th?

Capt. Rory Rorison
September 17, 2019
Shell Beach - Saltwater Fishing Report

Bad luck Friday the 13th? Last Friday I had Mathew, Bianca, and Abijah from Georgia on the Blazer Bay. They wanted to do some rig fishing for what bigger fish, so the plan was to run out deep into the Sound. Besides being Friday the 13th, the wind was blowing harder that forecast, we had a full moon to deal with, and to top it off the crew brought bananas. We slowly pounded it out to our first rig and it was pretty slow except for the catfish. Conditions were pretty sloppy and it looked like the bananas were working against us. We moved to another rig that is usually full of big drum, bull reds, and sheepshead, hoping we would find the action they were looking for. Well the creatures we were seeking where hard to come by, but the trout went nuts for a little bit and saved the day by filling up the box. To top the day off, on the way back in I spotted a triple tail hanging under a clump of hyacinths. I spun the boat around and eased up to it. That Campo's live shrimp was just too much for him to resist and on ice he went. They had a great time, caught a bunch of fish and blew the banana theory out of the water.

I have some openings the next couple of weeks and the fishing is really good right now. Don't forget, Fall is fast on its way and some of the best fishing of the year comes with it. Get your dates locked in and don't miss out. Call now to book your trip of a lifetime. Overnight accommodations on the bayou are available.

All fish in the Suzuki powered Blazer Bay 2400 were caught with Campo's live shrimp under a 4-Horsemen cork on Capt. Rory's United Charters custom rods provided by CUI Products with Penn reels, spooled with KastKing line. All fish removed and boxed with the one and only Jus Grab it Glove.
