Louisiana - Venice & the Gulf of Mexico

Venice - Saltwater Fishing Report

Winter Tuna!

It is winter time again and along with winter comes an incredible Yellowfin tuna bite in Southeast Louisiana. We are back fishing the Midnight Lump again and all I can say is it is incredible once again. Most of the yellowfin tuna being caught are over 100lbs. The method we are using is chumming right now and it is very effective on these big yellowfin. We have some enormous sized yellowfin coming off the lump right now. The biggest so far is over 200lbs.

The lump is located 18 miles from souhwest pass. It is a short boat ride and the fishing is awesome. Along with the big Yellowfin Tuna we are catching Blackfin tuna, Wahoo, and Amberjack. For those of you wanting in on the action wait no more. They're here.
