Venice - Saltwater Fishing Report

Fishing Venice, La.
The offshore fishing remains good. The weather has been somewhat tricky since we have been dodging a lot of thunderstorms, but it has been slick calms and the clouds are keeping the sun off of us which always helps out. Yesterday I took out the Kehoe group of life long friends from Dallas, Georgia, and Louisiana. Tuna was the main target. We started out the morning with snapper and easily put a 5 man limit in the boat. We moved out to the tuna grounds and in almost no time we had our first double on. They whipped them into the boat and from there we put 4 more nice Yellow fin tuna in the box and the bite went dead. All this by noon, we made a quick move to get into some cobia action but the weather ran us back to port. Over the Weekend Capt. Bob Kenney had a lot of the same, tuna, snapper, and cobia. The highlight of the day for the James Roberts crew was catching a nice White Marlin, which put on a great show getting 7 jumps out of him. The tuna, snapper, and cobia fishing is very good right now. There are some bigger tuna in the area than usual. Capt. Bob said he fought two big YFT on Sunday. The fight lasted more than two hours on one, which resulted in a straightened out hook. We've got open days this week and next. Don't miss out on the bite.
