OSPREY - Tuna Fishing - June

Capt. Joe Drosey
June 23, 2010
Ocean City - Saltwater Fishing Report

We've been catching YELLOWFIN TUNA in the Washington Canyon (inshore lumps inside the canyon) that have been averaging 30-50 pounds. Weekdays, when there not as many boats out, we're catching 6-15 per trip. On the weekends, with the increased traffic, we're still seeing 5-10/trip. Check out photo of two happy guys and their tuna!

There have been some dolphin mixed as well as some bluefin this past week. The bluefine are ranging 40-100 pounds.

There's still some mako around, with sizes ranging up to 500 pounds, but these have not been as plentiful with the waters warming up.

Bluefin Tuna season is only going to get better in July and August, and Yellowfin Tuna season will peak by September.
