Baja Sur - Saltwater Fishing Report

Cooler Weather and GREAT Fishing
EAST CAPE, BAJA CALIFORNIA, MEXICO

TEMPERATURES: High of 84 with a low of 71 and clouds in the morning.
STRIPED MARLIN - Picked up a little this week.
YELLOWFIN TUNA - Good catches in front of La Ribera as well as Cerralvo.
DORADO - A few large ones here and there through out Las Palmas Bay.
ROOSTERFISH - Plenty around.
JACK CREVALLE - La Ribera still producing good results.
BARRILLETE OR MEXICAN SKIPJACK - Plenty in front of La Ribera.
PARGO AND CABRILLA - Not much action this week.
.. OFFSHORE: Marlin picked some this week and tuna at La Ribera have been
crowd pleasers. Dorado remain spotty with mostly larger variety in open
water.
.. INSHORE: Continues to produce good catches of rooster, jacks, sierra and a
few pompano
.. BEACH: La Ribera beach early in the day is as good as it gets for jacks
and few
roosters.
.. QUICK COMMENT – Frequent visitor Don Sloan, Borrego, Calif., fishing early
morning at La Ribera, caught six jacks to 15 pounds and one small rooster
and was sitting on my porch at 9 a.m. telling me about it.

Temperatures: 75-degree high; low in the mid 60's. Fair skies with strong
wind in the afternoon.
TUNA - No catches reported.
YELLOWTAIL - Not much to talk about.
CORVINA - Under the bridge not bad.
SNOOK - Good catches at Mario's spot as well as several deep holes below
Devils Curve. Several nice fish landed down at Almejas Bay.
HALIBUT - Fair catches at the bocas.
.. QUICK COMMENT - Fishing continued good throughout the week for the few
anglers taking advantage of the nice weather.
