EAST CAPE, MAGDALENA BAY AND ZIHUATANEJO CONDITIONS
EAST CAPE, BAJA CALIFORNIA, MEXICO
IN GENERAL: Tuna continue to dominate the catches with the billfish bite
hanging in there as well. South winds in the afternoon have made for an
uncomfortable ride home as well as causing wind waves that thrash the
beach. Yvonne and I just returned from ESPN's Greater Outdoor Games in
Reno, Nev., and they were a hoot. There were guys climbing 75-foot poles
faster than I can get to the van in the garage. If want to see our take

· OFFSHORE: Plenty of tuna continue to be the best action with
billfish and dorado providing fair catches.
· INSHORE: A little tougher this week with the south wind.
· BEACH: Early morning before the wind gets going is the best bet.
BILLFISH - Punta Pescadero and Punta Arena just a few miles offshore
make for an easy trip.
YELLOWFIN TUNA - Find the porpoise and you will get bent.
DORADO - 12-weight time with the bigger fish hanging around.
ROOSTERFISH - Bubba is hanging out from Punta Arena to La Ribera. Find
a mullet school and don't leave it. Bubba is coming.
JACK CREVALLE - Try the sticks under the schools of sardina. Also try
beneath the boat mooring lines in front on the hotels. It’s been pretty
good. No boat? Get a kayak.
BARRILETE OR MEXICAN SKIPJACK - Plenty around.
PARGO AND CABRILLA - Rocky points are your best bet.
SIERRA - Get wired up before you start looking.
MAGDALENA BAY, BAJA CALIFORNIA, MEXICO

IN GENERAL: With all the locals directing their attention to the
recently opened scallop season, it is difficult to get a handle on the
fishing conditions as few anglers ventured out this week.

YELLOWTAIL - Bird schools to the west of the entrada holding a few
yellows and also some skipjack.
CORVINA - Try the early morning at the bridge.
SNOOK - Los Barriles Estero would be a good place to look.
HALIBUT - Sandy beach and chartreuse Clouser. What a combination.
SIERRA - Quiet for now.
