EAST CAPE, MAGDALENA BAY AND ZIHUATANEJO CONDITIONS
EAST CAPE, BAJA CALIFORNIA, MEXICO
IN GENERAL: After two months of steady tuna action, it seems that the schools have broken up or moved further offshore. With a large billfish tournament scheduled for this weekend, the focus has shifted to the pointy-nosed ones. Fair action has been reported outside of Punta Pescadero all the way up to Isla Cerralvo for everything from sailfish to blues which are the target for the upcoming tournament. Dorado fishing, while lacking in quantity, has produced a few of the larger variety scattered throughout Las Palmas bay.

· OFFSHORE: The trick right now is to cover lots of water until you find an area with good looking conditions (birds and bait.) Try starting your search at Punta Pescadero and working northward.
· INSHORE: Punta Colorada to the lighthouse has the best looking conditions for both jacks and roosters. Be sure to check around the mooring lines and receivers in front of the hotels.
· BEACH: The dirty water continues to plague the beach and is making it tough to find much action
BILLFISH Big spread with little concentration right now.
YELLOWFIN TUNA A few and way too far.
DORADO No schoolies to talk about. There are mostly pairs roaming about.
ROOSTERFISH El Coro for the smaller ones or the lighthouse for Bubba.
JACK CREVALLE Larger ones are under the boat moorings and smaller fish along the color line.
BARRILETE OR MEXICAN SKIPJACK A few schools sighted near the Tuna Slide.
PARGO AND CABRILLA - Try a popper or crease fly over rock structure, the
takes are spectacular.
SIERRA - Check out the receivers in front of La Ribera. Use wire or chum flies!
