Cabo San Lucas Fishing Report, January 24
Show up early and don't plan on making dinner!! Crazy weather causing the coldest surface temps in the last 100 yrs has sent the fleets running. The fish are out there, they are just halfway to Hawaii before you get into any water blue enough to get bit. The Striped Marlin are just stuck waiting for water temps to warm up enough for them to metabolize, for now they are just stalled out ion a suspended animation like state. As of Sunday morning the temps are creeping back up to a manageable level and we are moving past the moon phase into all around better conditions. We hope! If not we will just continue to run long , the Yellowfin tuna are holding steady 60 to 80 miles offshore and the Humpback whales never fail to impress. All together a lovely day on the water. If you are going out be specific with your captain, you do not want a boat ride around looking at green water just so they can save diesel. Be prepared to pay a little extra for the diesel and go fill some coolers!
