JC, Locks Himself in His Office and Refuses to Come out Unless People Except Him for Who He Really Is, and Vows to Go on Hunger Strike All Through Tuna Tournament unless HE and the FAT FARMER TEAM are Granted Immunity from Prosecution. JC, went on to say "Them Fat Boys get no Respect" and I as their legal represented in Mexico have a right to defend them Boys from whatever diet they choose to be on, and if them boys decide to have 3 Cream Puffs and Coffee for breakfast, that's their business and I am only a small Sandwich in this Picnic. So, you all get my drift, leave the boys alone their just fisherman who I have trained to win this Tuna Tournament. Anyway, I am in my office till we get respect or till the FAT FARMERS tell me the coast is clear!!!!!!!
Los Cabos Tuna Jackpot Tournament
A harbor full of sportfishing boats of every size imaginable – literally a "field of dreams" for anglers from around the world – with the Los Cabos Tesoro Hotel, headquarters for Los Cabos Tuna Jackpot Tournament, dominating its corner of the IGY Marina.
More staff and sponsors are arriving each day as preparations steadily continue for the "Big Show" that begins Wednesday on the malecon in front of the Tesoro.
Unpacking the countless boxes filled with sponsor giveaways, tournament T-shirts, bags, hats, fishing rods, rod cases, lures, line, hooks and more.
Meanwhile, team entries continue to roll in, pushing the total somewhere north of 153. Tuna info trickles in, even though both local and visiting anglers who have been pre-fishing have become tight-lipped … reluctant to share their findings with the first day of fishing only a few days away. Last night at Solomon's Landing, the noisy debates centered on where the big one might be found; would it be caught chunking on the Gordo or flying a kite among the porpoise offshore.
Tuesday is set-up day for the registration area (shown above on the malecon in its "before" condition prior to the weigh-scale, a dozen or so canopies, tables, ramp to the loading docks being put in place.)

Jc Sportfishing Charters is a family owned and operated business and has been fishing in Cabo San Lucas for the past 18 years. Jerry, explains that his charter business is geared more for families and novice anglers, making sure everyone who charters a boat with him have a great time and lots of fun. We welcome families, and groups. We want everyone who fishes with us to take all the sites in and have a memorable experience. This is what is most important to us. We have and do a few tournaments each year and can cater to fisherman who might be interested in tournament fishing. Well lets get on with the fishing report for this past week.
WEATHER: We are still hot and humid here in Cabo. It seems this lingering humidity has been hard to shake. It should be cooling this time of year because it will November 1 tomorrow and it shows no signs of cooling off to much. There has been a slight shift the last couple days as morning seem to be a little fresher, but not much to tell you the truth. We will see over the next few days if we will see a little bit of winter here in Cabo.
WATER: The water temperatures have been much warmer than we expected this time of year and it is due to La Nina the after effects of El Nino. The warm water off course has effected all our fishing patterns in which in normal times we would be seeing more Striped Marlin action than we have been seeing. There are 2 sides to this story since the Blues and Blacks seem to thrive more in the warmer water, so our action for them has been better than expected. We have had a huge Blue Marlin season this year with many Marlin caught and released. Please check out the Tempbreak map link below to get a good idea on water temperatures.

BILLFISH: Well, it has still been strong for the Blues and Blacks since the warm water is still in the area. I will say that the Striped Marlin bite hasn't kicked in lately due to the warm water, we think. If you are looking fro Stripers if you go to the pacific side up and around the Old Light House offshore 1 to 3 miles you will probably run into a decent bite. The colder water is up there so we have been having reports that this is the area for Stripers. The Blues and Blacks are still in our area and someone fishing now has a great chance to catch a big fish right now.
DORADO: It has been darn slow for Dorado compared to a couple weeks ago when it was hot. They are still catching some but not in the numbers we were seeing. Right now, we have been seeing some caught in the 15 to 30lbs range with quite a few smaller ones being caught inshore and maybe a mile off shore.
SWORDFISH: Hasn't heard of any caught this week.
WAHOO: It hasn't been to bad at all with some Wahoo in the 35 to 65lbs range being landed by some other boats in the fleet. Jet heads, Rapallas and purple lures seem to be working pretty decent.
TUNA: Well it has been kinda slow for Tuna and we have the tournament right upon us, which I don't know if its good news or not. As, I have been reporting the commercial Tuna boats are in the area doing what they do best and that is raping our waters. We are hoping for a good Tuna turn out for the Tournament and we hope to see them commercial boats dis appear soon.
INSHORE: The inshore fishing has just been ok, nothing special with some small Dorado, Sailfish and Amberjack are what is happening. There has been some good Amberjack action reported using iron. Small Tuna on sardines has been good inshore if you can find the sardines. From Grey Rock to the Pump House has been the area for decent Tuna and even Sailfish action using ballyhoo. Some small Dorado every once in a while have been landed.
It might be worth grabbing a Panga and going out for a 5 hour excursion to see what happens inshore.

JC,s Baja Sesame Tuna
Ingredients
2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
4 cups thinly sliced shiitake mushroom caps (about 10 ounces)
1/4 cup organic vegetable broth
1/4 cup rice vinegar
2 medium baby bok choy, quartered lengthwise
1 tablespoon sesame oil
2 tablespoons lower-sodium soy sauce
2 teaspoons sesame seeds
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
1 tablespoon canola oil
4 (6-ounce) fresh or frozen U.S.-caught Pacific albacore tuna fillets, thawed
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 cups hot cooked long-grain white rice
Preparation
1. Heat a medium skillet over medium-high heat. Add olive oil to pan, and swirl to coat. Add mushrooms, and saute for 5 minutes or until lightly browned, stirring occasionally. Add broth and vinegar; boil for 1 minute or until liquid almost evaporates. Keep warm.
2. Steam bok choy 1 minute. Heat a medium skillet over medium-high heat. Add sesame oil to pan; swirl to coat. Add bok choy, cut sides down; cook for 1 minute. Add soy sauce and sesame seeds; cook 1 minute or until thoroughly heated. Add 1 tablespoon bok choy cooking liquid and cilantro to mushroom mixture; stir to combine.
3. Heat a large cast-iron skillet over high heat. Add canola oil to pan; swirl to coat. Sprinkle fish evenly with salt and pepper. Add fish to pan; sauté 1 minute on each side or until desired degree of doneness. Let stand 1 minute. Cut into 1/4-inch-thick slices. To serve, place 1/2 cup rice on each of 4 plates; top each serving with 2 bok choy quarters. Arrange 1 tuna fillet on each plate; top each serving with 1/4 cup mushroom mixture.
BEWARE: Please beware of the guys in the street selling boat charters. If you wait till the day you are fishing and go to the dock where your boat is many times people will mislead you to another boat or dock trying to put you on a boat that was not meant for you. You need to have a person guide you to your boat, who is from a reputable charter company. This way there is no confusion or misleading. Please remember when renting Sport fishing boats in Cabo that you rent your boat from reputable and established business. Walk into a fishing fleet office and ask questions about what you are getting and what are the costs? You don't want to rent boats from vendors in the streets and you do not want to book through shady websites offering you the world. Check through travel forums about reputable fishing fleets to deal with. Look for testimonials about the fleet your booking, your charter with. Ask about what will the boat be supplying? Will it include beverages or lunches? How much does it cost to fillet your catch? Check to see if charter boat is insured? Ask about getting your catch smoked? Check cost of a fishing license. These are just a few things to consider when booking your charter boat. We will be talking more about this in the next weeks fishing report.
