FinChaserCabo.com

Sailfish, and Tuna Sighted south of Cabo! Exciting Catches Surge Amid Warm Waters finally reaching 80s! 🌊🐟🔥

Location: Pelagic: 1150, 95, south of cabo, gorda and cabrilla banks

Weather Conditions: Cabo San Lucas Weather Report and Forecast

Forecast: We expect mostly sunny days with clear skies throughout the week.

Temperature: Expect scattered clouds and temperatures around low 80°s to high 70°s in Cabo San Lucas this week. 🌞🌴🎣

Wind: Cabo San Lucas will experience consistent northwest winds ranging from 5-15 knots, with wind speeds generally increasing in the afternoons and evenings

Species Highlights:
Striped Marlin: Striped Marlin: The marlin bite is improving at the 95 and 1150 spots, spreading out to just a few miles offshore from Cabo. Catches are increasingly closer to shore, with these impressive fish being hooked using a variety of methods, including live bait, lures, rigged bait, and teasers.

Roosterfish: Bite continues with successful catches on smaller specimens now further up the coast past Hard Rock and Nobu hotel using live bait.

Wahoo: Action impredictable as the wahoo catches this week change. These elusive fish are still active, striking on rigged bait set on long troll lines, deep dive lures assisted with planer boards, and jethead lures. Our special technique involves rigging dead bait and using lures on deep planer boards.

Mahi Mahi: Heating up! as the satelite imaging now shows sea surface temperatures at a nice 81 degrees. At the 95, and 84 degrees at the 1150. On the 30th we landed 4 nice Mahi while fishing for bills.

Tuna: Closing in as the water now steadily warms up. Our last report had them at over 60 miles offshore into the sea of cortez now few catches are reported at around 35 miles offshore. With some of these above 80 and 90lbs we look forward to the tuna frenzy.

Sailfish: There were several catches of these beautiful fish this week reported no major increase in activity to report.

Notes:
Marlin fishing in Cabo this week remains promising with moderate abundance despite fewer boats out this season. They're primarily found a couple of miles offshore and near the 1150 and 95 spots, where striped marlin, thriving in temperatures around the 70s, are notably active. Alongside marlin, there's also a presence of sailfish, a few mahi-mahi, and tuna moving into the area, making it a diverse and potentially rewarding fishing opportunity.
The experienced crews at Fin Chaser Sportfishing are well-prepared to navigate these conditions, ensuring an exceptional fishing experience for our guests. Alongside marlin, anglers in Cabo San Lucas are enjoying excellent overall fishing conditions. Reports indicate a healthy mix of dorado (mahi-mahi), yellowfin tuna, and wahoo. The striped marlin bite remains strong, with many boats reporting successful catches and releases.
Overall, Cabo San Lucas offers thriving fishing action, making it an ideal time for both seasoned and novice anglers to embark on a memorable fishing adventure.

Weekly Tips:
Early Departure: Set off early from the Marina to get first pick at the bait it continues to be scarce plenty mullet for roosters, no mackerel, few google eyes/big eye scad (caballito), and green jacks (cocinero). Bait Rigging: Medium-sized live baits are key to enticing those elusive catches. Tackle Maintenance: Keep your gear in prime condition for the best chance at a high catch rate. Prepare for a memorable week on the waters of Cabo San Lucas, where every cast is an opportunity for an unforgettable catch. 🌊🐟✨
