Cabo San Lucas - Saltwater Fishing Report

Pisces Sportfishing Fish Report June 30th – July 6th

Billfish: We started this week a bit slow on the Billfish, there was mostly tuna and Dorado, but that changed on July 2nd, with the Valerie releasing 6 Striped Marlin and landing a 40lbs Dorado for Patrick Treault, that same day, Ruthless released 3 Striped Marlin for Travis & Mary Campbell from Florida. On July 3rd, Ni Modo released 5 Striped Marlin for the Wegher Family from Dakota Dunes, SD. Yahoo released 3 Striped Marlin for Tom & David Weeler and Patrick Dunn form California. Also, C-ROD released 3 stripeys for Randall Smith, Trivia Langlois and Matt Larson from Grand Forks, ND also Andrea released 3 Striped Marlin for Lucas Tigler from Edmond OK, and Jason & Kathy Ray from California. On July 4th, again Ni Modo released 5 Striped Marlin for Culyn Bruss, Chris and Steve Housefield and Rebecca released 2 Stripeys and a Sailfish for Dave Nolt and Megan Weakly from Lonetree, CO. The Overall success rate this week is 85.3%, we caught 74 Striped Marlin and released 70, and caught 8 Sailfish and 6 were released.

Other Species: Tuna picked up a little this week with a success rate of 30%, Marea caught 13Yellowfin on June 30th and Valerie landed 18 on July 4th for a very nice Independence dinner, the average size was between 20 to 40lbs. Dorado slowed down with a success rate of 19% vs. the 37% we had last week, average size was 20 – 40lbs. Tracy Ann caught a very nice 90lbs Wahoo and 5 tunas on July 6 for Dan Winberger. Ni Modo released a Hammerhead Shark around 100lbs on July 5th.

Location: Pacific Ocean on Finisterra and the Old Lighthouse, Cerro Blanco. Sea of Cortez on Destiladeras, Cabeza de Ballena, Cabo Pulmo, 95 spot.

Weather Conditions: Pretty calmed seas, very sunny, temperature reaching 100F.

Water Temperature: Water temperature was crazy this week, we were up and down between 75F to 88F on the Sea of Cortez, Pacific side stayed cold on 75F.

Best Lures: Live Bait.
