Cabo San Lucas - Saltwater Fishing Report
PISCES WEEKLY FISH REPORT
DECEMBER 15TH TO 21st, 2006
Overall catch success rate 95%
BILLFISH: This was an excellent week for marlin, with 80% of the boats coming back with billfish, most of them with multiple hookups.
The highlight this week is our 31 footer REBECCA releasing 13 Striped Marlin on December 15th for John McGowan, that same day, our 28 footer Andrea released 10 Stripeys for Brian Cook and Brian Hutchison. Most of the boats came back with 2 to 7 marlin released. On the last days of the week we sow aslight decrease on the marlin catches as the sea got a little rough and some of the clients decided to call the day and come back with one or two marlin released and a few Dorados for dinner. We have a tie with Tracy Ann releasing 8 striped marlin for Russell Lefelure and the Yahoo also releasing 8 stripeys for the Hendel’s on the 21st.
A total of 147 Striped Marlin where caught and only 3 got boated, we also caught and release 2 Pacific Sailfish.
OTHER SPECIES: Dorado was really good this week also, with 78% of the boats coming back with this specie. Most of the boats coming back with 3 to 8 Dorados between 15 to 20 lbs, Rebecca was the only boat to catch 9 dorados for Dean and Amy Strawn, and also released 5 striped marlin for them.
We had a several decrease on Tuna Fishing with only 5 boats catching this specie this week, although, our 31ft Cabolero managed to land 28 yellow fin tuna for Michael Bang from Korea. Panga fishing was good this week, we had red snapper, sierra, rooster and skip jack.
WEATHER CONDITIONS: Sunny skies with just a few clouds, wind picked up this week a little bit and the seas got a little choppy.
LOCATION: Golden Gate and the Old Lighthouse.
AVERAGE WATER TEMP:77 F
BEST LURES: Live bait.
