Biloxi Mississippi Fishing - Barrier Islands Produce Redfish

Capt. Robert L. Brodie
April 26, 2009
Mississippi Sound - Saltwater Fishing Report

On Saturday my comeback clients were Nick Ward and Robert "Butter" Summers, and man did they have a blast fishing the gorgeous barrier islands south of Mississippi's mainland.

Yes, it was rough and the waters were turbid, but a supply of fresh dead shrimp and custom bottom rigs did in a box full of fish.

The bite was hot, and quickly the duo were pulling in the redfish, sheepshead, black drum, Florida pompano, and bluefish.

These fish were turned on, and fishing just inside a rolling surf and a beautiful shallow and clear sand flat, well, it just doesn't get any better than that.

By the way, we might endure bumpy rides on rough days in my 2170 Blazer Bay, but once at the isles or Louisiana marsh, well, this boat is an awsome to fish in the shallows, and gets to fish other biggers boats can't.

When the smoke cleared we boated 8 redfish, 3 sheepshead, 2 black drum, 1 Florida pompano, 2 big bluefish, and a 4-pound speckled trout. A great catch on a rough day!

So folks if we are catching fish in all of this bad weather just think of all of the great fishing to come when the nice summer weather eventually settles in.

Hey, I am 24/7 and just waiting for your call to go catch some fish. So get up off that sofa and let's create some fishing memories of your own.
