On this outing, comeback clients Don Sipp and his uncle Jay decided to get in on the exciting run of big black drum and redfish prowling the gorgeous shallows of south Mississippi's barrier islands.

When Don saw the latest fishing reports he was quick to book a fishing trip and get in on the latest barrier island big fish action.

Although Don, Jay, and Don's father has caught plenty od smaller species aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS, well, the run of big fish was to much for Don to pass up.

So off Don, Jay, and I went in search of these hard fighting fish. Once on the flats it didn't take long ro locate fish, and within minutes Don was battling a big bull redfish.

It was a good way to start out the day, and shortly Don had landed a big red pushing 40-inches in length.

We continued to hunt fish running up and down the bars and gullies, and before the winds picked up on us the men landed 2 big redfish and 4 big black drum.

Water conditions didn't get really good till later in the trip, but the men fished well and caught what they needed for some family outings coming up.

Now, Don is excited about the summer run of Florida pompano, and as soon as I give him the word on their arrivial he'll hop aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS ready for another fun and exciting light tackle adventure here in beautiful south Mississippi.

Also, in about 2 weeks the big inshore migrations of white trout and ground mullet should kick in, and that will provide a fish on every cast type of trips.

No, sand sea trout "white trout" and southern kingfish "ground mullet" aren't big fish, but they are extremely plentiful with no limits, and are excellent when their bonelsss fillets are fried up golden brown.

By the way, above is a picture of Mississippi's Lieutenant Governor Phil Bryant. The Lieutenant Govenor enjoyed a cold few hours of fishing in the Back Bay of Biloxi last week aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS catching a couple of big sheepshead, and a small redfish. The Lieutenant is a great angler and avid outdoorsman.

Once this weather warms a bit more expect the fishing to get really hot here in south Mississippi, so book your next light tackle fishing trip aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS, and let the adventures begin.

Regards and many thanks to all,
