Mississippi Sound - Saltwater Fishing Report
Gathering from my latest fishing reports you can see that the bay fishing has been very good, as well as the barrier islands when weather permits.
Plenty of black drum, sheepshead, as well as a smattering of speckled trout, flounder, and redfish have been eager to bend the rods, and redfish and big black drum are prowling the isle's shallow flats.
However, with the coming of cold weather it's now time to focus on a bit of duck hunting here in south Mississippi, and although I have been running late on getting the hunting gear in order, well, I am ready now.
New springs, lights, and wheels on the trailer are what I needed for the drive to the hunting grounds, and the decoys, around a hundred or so, are ready to go in new "wide mouth" bags.
Got a few trips booked coming up, but don't hesitate to give me a call any time to book a trip of your own. Looks like we will have another good crop of birds this season (redheads and scaups), and the weather is getting ideal for these big water hunts.

Mississippi Sound Fishing Forecast:
COME HUNT DIVING DUCKS!
From now through the end of January I'll be guiding diving duck hunts on the Mississippi Sound for redheads, greater and lesser scaups, buffleheads, scoters, and an occasional canvasback.
Black drum, redfish, and sheepshead in the bays milling around bridges and other debris.
Speckled trout moving into coastal rivers, and can be caught by slow trolling.
Barrier islands have big redfish and black drum prowling their shallows when the weather is calm.
White trout on fish havens in the deeper waters of the Mississippi Sound.
