Biloxi, MS Fishing - Specks & White Trout Biting!

Capt. Robert L. Brodie
November 19, 2009
Mississippi Sound - Saltwater Fishing Report

In the last couple of days I took my friends and family fishing, and it was good to spent some no pressure fishing with friends.

On Monday I took my brother-in-law Mike Severson from Ocean Springs, MS out for a quick run to one of the white trout haunts near the barrier islands, and in a short period of time we enjoyed putting 80 fine fish in the box. Yes, they are still there in big numbers!

On Wednesday, my good friend Kevin Toncrey from Biloxi, MS and I went trolling in one of our coastal rivers, and the bite on speckled trout was really good.

By simply trolling 4 or 5 artificial baits behind the boat we put 14 nice specks, and a nice flounder in the box, as well as releasing numerous trout just under the 13-inch limit.

By the way, this is a fun and relaxing was to catch specks, and now through the winter is prime time to catch fish doing so.

Heck, just set the rods in the rod holders while slowly motoring through beautiful coastal rivers and bayous, and just wait for the rods to take a sudden bend.

Yes, it's really fun, and you can sip hot coffee and eat snacks while waiting for the next bite. Just another diverse style of fishing offered aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS.

Redfish and big black drum are still prowling the barrier island's shallows, white trout are stacked up on the fish havens in the Mississippi Sound, and sheepshead and black drum are thick in the bay too.
