Just finished up two days of fishing south Mississippi's gorgeous barrier islands this week, and the shallows were loaded with big redfish and massive black drum.

Best of all, well, my clients managed to catch a good mess of them, boxing some, and releasing some of the bigger specimens.

On Thursday had Greg Hurst, Steve Johnson, and Michael "The Outlaw" Walker from Alabama aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS, and the guys had a blast sight fishing and catching big reds and black drum.

The gulf's surface was slick calm, and the isle's shallows were extremely clear, thus making the schools of fish easy to locate. Heck, I didn't even have the trolling motor, and we still managed to box 4 fine redfish, 5 black drum, and released a number of bigger fish.

Managed to make it back out on Saturday with one of my regular clients John Noel from Jackson, MS, and we had poor conditions with building seas, but still managed to land 3 big reds, keeping 2.

Stiff east winds put an end to our sight fishing opportunities, and we ended the day up in the Back Bay of Biloxi boating a couple of small black drum and a sheepshead.

Hey, if you can get the timing right on calm weather conditions now is the time to fish the barrier islands aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS for some exciting light tackle sight fishing opportunites for redfish and huge black drum.

Right now it looks like the latter part of next week the weather may calm down again. Will just have to watch and see. To date, I am booked Saturday.

Regards and many thanks to all,

Capt. Robert L. Brodie of TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS
