No Oil In Biloxi, MS, But Plenty Of Fish!

Capt. Robert L. Brodie
May 28, 2010
Mississippi Sound - Saltwater Fishing Report

Well folks I know the magnificent Gulf of Mexico is pumped full of crude oil, but so far Biloxi, Mississippi has escaped its wrath, and most of all the inshore, Mississippi Sound, and barrier island fishing remains hot.

I know it has been a while since my last report on CyberAngler, but believe it or not I've been extremely busy, and if not for the oil scare I would probably be running every day.

However, I'll count my blessing and hope and pray the winds and tides keep this mess away from our shores. But the fishing has been great, and the clients have been wonderful people as usual with most of them returning anglers.

By the way, TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS has about an eighty-percent comeback clientele, and that's what keep the business going strong.

The white trout bite is hot as ever, big speckled trout are at the barrier islands and around the bays, flounders are on the front beaches, hordes of ladyfish and bluefish are at the isles, Spanish mackrel are coming and going, and sharks and the bull reds are prowling the isles too.

A few Florida pompano are showing up, and small black drum are starting to bite again too. Now before each trip all I have to do is make a throw or two with the brill net, and we have all of the live menhaden and threadfin herring needed for live bait and chum.

The bays and Mississippi Sound is loaded with all sorts of baitfish, and the predator fish are showing up to eat them. Bottom line, the fishing has been excellent, and as long as the oil stays away it's only going to get better. One thing for sure, a cork needs to be shoved in that well pronto.

So come on down folks, our beaches are clean, and the fishing is hot. What more could one ask for? Heck we have world-class gambling, fine dining, entertainment, and fishing for all to enjoy. Come and get some!

Regards and many thanks to all,

Capt. Robert L. Brodie of TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS
