Mississippi Sound - Saltwater Fishing Report
TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS Catching The Bay Dwellers In Fog & Windy Conditions! Hey...you've got to fish hard or stay on the dock!
Before all of this nasty weather blew in it was a lot of fun catching the hard fighting redfish, black drum, and sheepshead in the Back Bay of Biloxi. Here are a few pics of the latest catches.
March is the time of year that these fish start to congregate at the mouth of bays as the waters begin to warm up, and the surface temp as been close to 70 degrees.
Caught a couple of white trout and ground mullet too...just a few...but a good sign of things to come.
Hopefully soon we'll be catching a 100 to to 200 fish on each outing, generally a great way to start off a morning of light tackle fishing.
Hey, let's get the kids in on this action, and they will simply have a blast!
No they aren't big fish by any means, but are extremely scrappy, and fry up as tasty, boneless, and golden brown fillets.
Heck, we generally catch them two at a time on a good bite, and they will often get up to the size of, or bigger than a legal speckled trout.
Have plenty of trips lined up, and now we just need the crazy March weather to settle down so we can get after all of these fish.
Yes, it's extremely early in our fishing season, but soon enough things will be going crazy down here once the waters get into and stay in the 70 plus degrees temps.
Havent been to the barrier islands lately with all of the windy weather, but on the last trips the flats were loaded with thousands of big black drum for the taking on light tackle.
In another month look for Florida pompano, flounder, Spanish mackerel, and white trout and ground mullet to be on fire.
Soon there will be so many fish and so little time to catch them. So make some time for yoursely, step aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS, and let's catch some fish and simply enjoy a beautiful day in south Mississippi.
Regards and many thanks to all,
Capt. Robert L. Brodie of TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS
