Bull Shoals - Freshwater Fishing Report
The water temp is dropping off quickly. The Bass are in a transition stage and should start moving toward the banks in a few weeks. The hot fish right now is big Walleye feeding in the shallow waters of the sand flats. There is an incredible amount of shad showing up on the fish finder, with a wide variety of game fish feeding. Get ready for a great month of fishing on the upper end of Bull!
Water Temp – 66 degrees
Water Level – 647.7 and dropping
Water – Clear to Stained
Black Bass are Fair with most hitting on Crank Bait, Football Jigs and Plastic Worms. Some good reports of top water fish early a.m. The Spinner Bait bite should be coming on soon when they head to the banks and into cooler water. Not hot yet on the Alabama Rig, but it should be soon.
Walleye are Great right now! Huge numbers have come in this week. Almost all the big fish have been caught on a shallow running crank baits while trolling. Go to your favorite Hot n' Tot along the sand flats. These fish are all being caught with in a mile or two of K Dock! Just had a 8.4 lb caught today with in sight of the dock! Bottom bouncing night crawlers has also been great.
Crappie are Good on live minnows over brush piles. They slowed down this week after the front moved through, but they should turn back on by this weekend. Good numbers coming in each day. Try all the coves between Piney and Mincy creek (from lake markers 37 to 36).
White Bass are fair to good when busting the shad. Seeing more and more each day hitting huge schools of shad down from the marina. Waiting for more reports from up the lake toward Beaver Creek. Most reports have been good when fishing around Hogan cove before the 37 marker.
