Fishing is GOOD!!

Bull Shoals - Freshwater Fishing Report

Walleye fishing has been very good. Lots of keeper walleye are being caught on jigs by bass fishermen and on Bama rigs fished off main lake points. Trolling for walleye has also been working. Flicker Shads and worm harnesses trolled in 15 to 25 feet of water are bringiong quite a few walleye to the boat. As the water continues to warm spooning for walleye will become effective.
Bass fishing during the day has been a top water or spinnerbait game. Early in the morning or in the evening top water lures like the spook or redfin have been effective. Occassionally top water works all day long if you find active fish. Spinnerbaits outside the brush line or over deep submerged brush are also working. Night time fishing for bass has been a jig or saltcraw bite. Single spin spinnerbaits with pork have also been effective. Best fishing has been on main lake points and bluff walls. Several anglers have reported goold catches using a drop shot rig.
Catfish have been active and a number of them are being caught on jigs by night fishermen. Trot liners are doing very well using frozen shad or small bluegill as bait. Most cats are coming from 15 to 25 feet of water in the mouths of main lake coves or creeks.
