Bull Shoals - Freshwater Fishing Report

Fishing at night is not only the most comfortable right now but the most productive. There are various ways to obtain your goal, One is to analyze the situation. Fish are looking for food and comfort. Both these items are generally located together at the thermocline during the hot summer days. You can determine the thermocline in a number of ways. The easiest is to call one of the marinas on the lake .They most all have this at this time of year. Next you need to find a feeding area.Because during the summer the predominate food source for game fish is shad, find a lake point that has brush or standing dead trees at or near to the thermocline level. This where the predatory fish will be waiting for the roving schools of shad that are feeding on crustaceans at the thermocline structure.

Mark a couple of these potential hot spots during the day and then return at night and tie up along the flooded tree level at the thermocline. Drop and turn on your underwater light source.Since the primary source of fish food is shad either use shad or minnows for bait. Then sit back.Open up a "Cold One"! Listen to the Cards on the radio and catch fish until you have your desired catch. Below is a photo off what is happening right now!!
