Branson: Fishing guides continue to catch smallmouth shallow early in the day on Chompers and Tightlines UV tubes. Look for fish to be holding five to fifteen feet deep on pea gravel mixed with rock banks, drag the tubes slowly along the bottom to draw strikes. A solid deep bite has materialized over the past week; large schools of shad have begun moving into the larger creek arms and are suspending in the center of the creek. Webb tail spoons, Ice Baits and Tightlines UV finesse worms on drop shot rigs have all been effective presentations.

Kimberling City: The same shallow patterns working are working in Kimberling City as in Branson. Fishing guides have been targeting shallow smallmouth on gravel and rock points with Chompers and Tightlines tubes. Add to that a good wiggle wart bite on steeper rocky banks; largemouth will hold less than three feet deep on windy days and move out to seven feet deep on calm days. The deep dock bite has started to turn on around the mid lake as well; look for large community docks on gravel points to be holding the most fish.

James River: Colder weather has fish on the move in the James River. The bite has been better later in the day particularly when the sun is shining. Early look for fish to be holding around 10' deep on transition area where rock changes to gravel. As the sun rises and the shallows warm fish will move up into shallow wood cover in gravel pockets. Jewel Pro Spider jigs with Paca chunk trailers have been good presentation for both areas. There has been a buzz bait bite around wood cover as well, look for laydowns and stumps on shallow flats to be the most productive.

White River: How do you want to catch fish on the White River? Branson fishing guides have been doing well with a number of patterns; the deep bite described in the Branson area has been effective from Baxter to Shell Knob, on windy days a wiggle wart on rocky banks and points is hard to beat, dragging Tightlines and Chompers tubes on gravel and the dock bite have all been putting fish in the boat. There has been a few fish starting to be caught on Umbrella rigs as well; most of the fish are coming out of tree tops around 20' deep on steeper banks.
