Branson: Fishing guides are following fish in their usual winter pattern migration. Frigid temperatures over the past week have moved fish deeper with the most consistent bite coming on Webb Tail Spoons and Drop Shot rigs in the middle of larger creek arms in Branson. Fishing guides are finding the majority of the fish from 30' – 55' deep suspending over much deeper water in and around standing timber. Tightlines UV 4" ringer worms have been very effective on a drop shot rig in and around the standing timber.

Kimberling City: There is still a shallow bite in the mid lake area but it has definitely moved a little deeper with the cooler air and water temperatures. Branson fishing guides have been doing well with SPRO and Megabass jerkbaits around standing timber on steeper rocky banks near transition area and on the inside of secondary and main lake points. Look for steep drops, larger rock and isolated timber to be the more productive banks. There is a deep bite in Kimberling City as well, just like in Branson fishing guides have been targeting schools of suspended fish near tree tops in creek arms and larger coves with drop shot rigs and Webb Tail spoons.

James River: The water in the James River continues to be the coldest on the lake moving fish deeper and setting up a couple of distinct patterns. Branson fishing guides targeting shallow fish are concentrating on steep rocky banks near transition areas and points, throwing SPRO and Megabass jerkbaits around standing timber and boat docks to draw strikes. The cadence for a jerkbait is definitely slower in the cooler water and allowing it to sit for up to 30 seconds between jerks is not uncommon. There is a solid deep bite as well, most of the fish have been on the main lake or near the mouths of creek arms; look for standing timber between 25' – 45' to be the most productive.

White River: Both deep and shallow patterns are working on the White River arm. Much like the mid lake and James there is a solid jerkbait bite on steep rocky banks with isolated timber, add to that a very good Jewel football jig bite and of course the deep bite and you have some of the best fishing on the lake right now. The deep bite has been in the larger coves and creek arms with fish suspended in tree tops around 30' deep over much deeper water. Webb Tail spoons and Tightlines UV ringer and finesse worms have been the ticket for these fish. On rock points in large creek arms and on the main lake a watermelon candy 5/8 oz. Jewel football jig with a green pumpkin Tightlines jig trailer has been very productive on larger fish. Work the jig slowly along the bottom paying close attention as it falls off a rock or ledge.
