Focused Fishing Guide Service Featured on Byron Velvick's Guide's Eyes on the Outdoor Channel.

Branson: Fishing guides are still finding fish shallow and deep on the lower end of the lake despite the most recent arctic blast. The shallow fish are being caught on a combination of stickbaits and jigs and deep fish are being caught on spoons and drop shot rigs. Shallow fish are primarily holding on rocky main lake and secondary points, the stickbait bite is much better if there is a little wind. Deep fish have been holding close to creek channels in the larger creek arms, watch for birds to help you find the shad and fish will be close by.

Kimberling City: Similar deep and shallow patterns are working in the mid lake as in Branson. Fishing guides are targeting rocky points with SPRO McStick and Mega Bass 110 stickbaits, keying on windy points with isolated wood cover. Jewel pro spider jigs in PB&J or Okeechobee blue matched with a finesse craw have been the ticket calm days on these same points. The deep bite has been a little tougher over the past week, shad seem to have been pushed closer to the mouths of creeks rather than toward the back.

James River: Ice has been a concern on the James River, the backs of creek arms and even the upper end of the lake has significant ice making the fishing tougher and a little dangerous. On the lower portion of the river the bite has been similar to Kimberling City; Jewel Jigs and stickbaits and umbrella rigs have been accounting for most of the catch. Branson fishing guides have done well with an umbrella rig over submerged trees on ledge type banks, cast the rig beyond the trees, count it down to just above the tree tops and retrieve with a moderate slow retrieve.

White River: The jig bite on the White River continues to be impressive. Jewel Pro spider jigs on rocky banks have been producing fish from Baxter through Shell Knob, steeper banks about midway back in the larger creek arms have been the most productive particularly on calm sunny days. Look for fish to be 15' – 25' deep on these banks and the slower your presentation the better. Stickbaits are working in these same areas when conditions are right, a long 15 second pause is necessary to draw strikes.
